3 Wk SEWING MACHINE & EQUIPMENT OPERATION
Foundation Course

If you want to know your way around a sewing workroom (for your job, as a prerequisite for some of our other classes, or to add to your own personal skill set), this is the class for you. In this 3 week class we'll teach you to thread up and proficiently use several domestic home sewer machines, as well as powerful (and fast) industrial machines, too... because sometimes you just have a need for speed!  Practice methods of speed control and accuracy. Operate the presser foot with or without a knee lever, and enjoy continuous bobbin winding. Use domestic and professional sergers and pressing equipment. Learn to use that (darn ;) blind hem feature on a home sewing machine. And, use a professional blind hemmer, too. Learn how to use a home sewing machine to make a buttonhole... and even use the machine to attach the button! Work on an industrial cutting table. And, learn a range of hand-stitches. Expect to increase productivity after learning these efficient machines and techniques.

Prerequisites: None
Once you take and successfully pass this class, you are ready to go and conquer the world! Or,you can go on to our Tailoring, Dressmaking, Alterations or Garment Construction courses. And/or book time to use our equipment independently, for your personal projects, at Esaie Couture Design School
