Get weekly fashion challenges.
Learn the basic techniques of how to DESIGN, SKETCH, DRAFT, DRAPE and SEW various SKIRTS, in season 1 (TOPS will be Season 2, coming soon).
Complete the course on week 8 with a final style challenge before it has to be presented to the “judges” (your instructor)
SEASON 1 PROJECT:
VARIOUS SKIRT STYLES
SKILLS & TECHNIQUES
✄Learn how designers come up with design ideas
✄Learn fashion illustration techniques
✄Introduction to draping and how fabric works on the dress form mannequin
✄Learn to drape various skirt styles and draft patterns, too
✄Learn sewing machine skills, various seams and seam finishes
✄Take the Teen Fashion Designer Challenge on week 7 & 8:
Sketch, drape, cut and sew an original garment!

PREREQUISITES
✄Basic understanding of a sewing machine
✄If no experience, we suggest first taking one of the following one day workshops: Sew Simple or Learn To Sew in a Day
FABRIC & SUPPLIES
✄5 Yards of cotton fabric for their collection (no stretchy fabrics, stripes or plaids)
✄Matching thread
