Learn how to design using the art form of draping. On an industry dressform you'll learn basic draping skills to advanced techniques to express yourself as a designer. Once you master this art, design to your hearts content! Some designers perfect work on the flat pattern, but there is nothing more exciting then designing in 3D and seeing your ideas come to life right in front of your eyes! This course is great for someone who wants to take there skills to the next level
INSTRUCTOR BIO: Clark Sabbatt is a fashion designer with 20 years experience, who has lived between New York and Paris since 1994, affording him the opportunity to work on both sides of the Atlantic. His designs have appeared in the pages of Elle, Vogue and Instyle. Clark and his designs have been mentioned on several occasions in WWD, NY Times, E fashion file and even on Japanese Fashion TV. Celebrities such as Rihanna and Sienna Miller own some of his pieces.
SKILLS & TECHNIQUES:
Learn to properly measure and fit the body form
Understand the fundamental and more advanced concepts of draping on a dress form
Create and drape original designs
Explore both draping and pattern making techniques
Fabric and Supplies:
Students should bring muslin fabric 10 yds, pattern paper, measuring tape, pencil, erase, 2 x color pencils, french curve, see through 2" grid ruler, note book, dress form for working on at home.
Course Duration: 3 hour classes/8 weeks/ 1x per week
Fridays 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Installment Payment Plan available: $222.50 at registration and $222.50 by 3rd week of class
Prerequisite: Basic sewing a plus, but not required.
