ESAIE COUTURE  DESIGN SCHOOL

This program is designed for those interested in developing the skills necessary for custom or made-to-measure tailoring.

Upon completion of this course, students will have developed skills in pattern-making, drafting, cutting, sewing, sewing, fitting, pressing, finishing, and more!

  1. Pattern Development & Drafting of Pants, Vests & Shirts
  2. Cutting Methods
  3. Industrial Sewing
  4. Tailored Pants, Vests and Shirt Construction 
  5. Fitting Techniques 
  6. Professional Pressing and Finishing



TOOLS & SUPPLIES

  1. 2 yards of Muslin fabric
  2. 2 yards of menswear fabric, per project
  3. 1 yard of pocketing (for pants and vest class)
  4. Pattern making rulers (L square, clear 18" grid ruler, Hip curve ruler, french curve)
  5. Sewing supplies (8"Shears/scissors, tape measure, tailor's chalk, pins, needles, thread, seam ripper)
  6. Student should bring notebook and pencil
Teaching starts from a very basic level. First, the students learn the theory behind tailoring. Then, they move on to a repertoire of techniques to build a reference file, make samples, and tailor whole garments.

Students are given the opportunity to thoroughly develop and master the practical skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the tailoring job industry or to start business.

Upon completion of this course, qualified students will receive a certificate of completion to be used as recognition of professional training in the field. They will also receive placement assistance with a leading menswear company, and those starting businesses will receive mentorship and business advice to help them achieve success.
