COURSE OUTLINE
- Using the fashion croquis
- Fashion Illustration
- Sketching and Rendering Fabrics
- Finding Inspiration - magazines, themes
- Understanding Fabrics
- Color Coordination
- Learn basic sewing machine skills
- Sew various seams (straight, cornered, curved, etc)
- Learn proper pressing techniques
- Complete sewn project(s)
FINAL PROJECT: Each 5-week session, students design and make a different garment, accessory or bag. And, the final week will include an in-house fashion show and/or exhibit for family and friends.
COURSE DURATION: 1 hour class (once per week), 5 weeks
COURSE RUNS: Saturdays 9:00am - 10:00am
Classes runs continuously throughout the year. New students can join and current students can continue to register for each 5-week session, since there are always new projects to do!

Students (aged 8 to 12 years old) lucky enough to be in this program will cultivate their creativity, build confidence, and feel a sense of accomplishment as they learn: Fashion Illustration, Fashion Design and Fashion Sewing. Each 5-week session will culminate with a finished project and an informal, in-house fashion show or exhibit! This class runs all year long. Kids can start their own collection, prepare a portfolio of work for entry into a specialized high school... or just come to have fun!
